Sandwiches in the News: McDonald’s to retire Big ‘N Tasty

July 7, 2010

A friend showed me this, and I figured I should let you all know.  TIME magazine is reporting that McDonald’s is phasing out the Big ‘N Tasty, as well as their Mac Snack Wraps.  The Big ‘N Tasty was kind of their answer to the Whopper or other “Deluxe” burgers available from competitors, and the Mac Smack Wraps were like their chicken wraps, but with half a hamburger instead.  Neither has been selling well lately, which is part of the reason dropping them.  Personally, I don’t think they’ll be missed, especially with McDonald’s Angus Third Pounders serving the same purpose as the Big N’ Tasty.  The article goes on to mention the introduction of oatmeal and other healthier fare, but unless they’re putting it in a sandwich, it’s a bit beyond my purview.

Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight, sweet prince; and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

In other news, I’ve updated the tags on the reviews and other entries, so you can click on a restaurant and see all of the reviews/posts I’ve done about it.  Check it out!!
